First blog! with a July update

Hello Friends!

I'm officially a blogger... I feel so technological :) This little blog will post my monthly newsletter and other fun insights from in and around the International House of Prayer and will hopefully help you to stay better connected with me. Feel free to post any prayer requests you might have, or testimonies from answered prayers! In addition to having a blog, there have been a lot of changes in my life within the last month that I am really excited to share with you all, as well as plenty of new changes here at IHOP. There's never seems to be a dull moment when you are part of a 24/7 ministry!

At the end of last month I was offered a position to work with the children's ministry here at IHOP. After much prayer, and seeking of wise counsel, I decided to take the job and switch back to days. It was one of the hardest decisions I have had to make since being here, but after adjusting back to a day schedule and working a little bit with this new staff I am thrilled at what I get to do everyday. I am currently in charge of communications and marketing for the Children's Equipping Center (CEC), as well as helping to teach a classroom on Sunday mornings for the 3-4 yr olds. In the summer I also hope to help coordinate and minister at the 8-10 summer camps we are establishing around the nation. I feel my heart growing more alive in this new season of my life, and am realizing that one of my mandates in life is to teach young children about the beauty and majesty of God. I am zealous for the next generation to be raised up in righteousness and holiness, being fully in love with Jesus, and living by the power of the Holy Spirit, which directly aligns with the vision and purpose of the CEC. I definitely miss the interns and life-style of being on the Nightwatch, but know without a doubt that this is where I am supposed to be.

In the midst of all the excitement of GODTV arriving and The Call happening in Tennessee, IHOP had one more thing in the works... a second prayer room! The Justice Prayer Room - Contending for Life, Revival, and Israel - began on July 2nd and has been going for 12 hrs a day, 7 days a weeks since. Its vision is rooted in Luke 18:8 - that there would be a people of faith that would contend night and day for speedy justice" and not lose heart. The establishing of a new prayer room was not a new concept for us - we know that by the end of this there will be at least 5 prayer rooms connected to IHOP throughout Kansas City, each having a specific focus. We desire to have a full International Prayer Room where teams from every nation are leading worship and praying in their own languages; a Contemplative/Devotional Prayer Room based off the life of Mary of Bethany; even a Children's Prayer Room where teens and elementary kids lead worship and prayer with their families to fulfill the Malachi 4:6 reality. The astonishing aspect of this all is that it is already becoming a reality!

Finally, I want to thank you for your prayers regarding The Call in Nashville, Tennessee, this past month. IHOP and many other ministries around the world tuned in via simulcast to join in the prayer and worship that was going on in Titan Stadium. It was truly a powerful time of contending for this nation, for the issue of abortion, and for the church of America - my heart was so encouraged to know that our little prayer ministry is not alone. Check out www.thecall.com for a re-cap of the day and testimonies from the event.

Thank you again for all your prayers and support! Please email or write me with any prayer requests you, your family, or church may need, or if you would like to know how you can support my ministry here at IHOP. Have a wonderful and blessed month!
